Two specialists. One platform.
WAVMerlaud is the product of deliberate collaboration between two best-in-class disciplines: IP-native audio network management software, and amplifier and loudspeaker engineering that spans more than a century. Together, we deliver public address infrastructure built on unmatched depth of experience.
WAVHub brings over 20 years of IP network and software expertise. Merlaud brings more than 100 years of audio hardware engineering heritage. Together, that depth is unmatched in the IP PA market.
Best-in-class, by design
WAVHub was founded to solve a problem that legacy PA manufacturers couldn't: managing thousands of audio endpoints across complex IP networks with the reliability demanded by life-safety applications. Our WAVHub platform is the management and distribution brain of every WAVMerlaud system — handling zone logic, priority routing, failover, and integration with third-party systems through open APIs.
IP-native architecture
Built from the ground up for IP networks — not retrofitted from analogue designs.
Open API platform
REST and WebSocket APIs enable integration with any BMS, fire panel, or control system.
Centralised management
A single WAVHub instance manages thousands of zones across multiple sites.
Sub-10ms latency
IP multicast delivery achieves latency unattainable by legacy matrix-switched systems.
A century in the making
Merlaud france founded
Merlaud was founded by François Merlaud, founded the business alongside a partner under the name Etablissements Merlaud et Poitrat.
SNCF & RATP — France's rail network
During France's post-war modernisation, Merlaud France began supplying professional Public Address systems to major national transportation operators, including SNCF (French National Railways) and RATP (Paris Metro). This period marked the beginning of Merlaud's long-standing involvement in delivering mission-critical voice communication and passenger information systems for France's rail transportation infrastructure.
Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 3
Merlaud (France) supplied approximately 12,000 100V ceiling loudspeakers together with Merlaud amplifiers for the terminal-wide Background Music (BGM) and paging system at Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 3 — one of the world's busiest and most acclaimed airports. Construction ran from 2002 to 2007, with the terminal opening on 1 July 2008, cementing Merlaud's reputation as a trusted supplier for large-scale, mission-critical public address infrastructure.
Nanchang Huayin Co., Ltd. founded
Michael Jiang established Nanchang Huayin Co., Ltd. in Nanchang, China, to manufacture analogue public address systems. The company would later become Merlaud Tech Nanchang Co., Ltd. — a subsidiary of MERLAUD s.a.s (France) — forming the manufacturing backbone of the WAVMerlaud hardware line.
Merlaud transfers factory to Nanchang
Merlaud France transfers its manufacturing facility to Michael Jiang's facility in Nanchang, China — a pivotal move that deepened the partnership between Merlaud's century of audio engineering heritage and the manufacturing infrastructure that would underpin the WAVMerlaud product line.
EN54 certification
Merlaud achieves EN 54-16 and EN 54-24 certification for its full amplifier range.
Merlaud IP Products released
Michael Jiang develops and releases the first generation of Merlaud IP Products — a pivotal step that transformed Merlaud from an analogue amplifier manufacturer into a full IP audio hardware brand, directly enabling the WAVMerlaud platform.
First IP PA — PT Kereta Indonesia
Carlos Hinolan and Michael Jiang install the first Merlaud IP Public Address system at PT Kereta Indonesia (KAI), Indonesia's national railway operator. This landmark deployment marked the first real-world validation of the IP PA platform in a large-scale, mission-critical rail transport environment.

How it Started
Carlos Hinolan and Michael Jiang crossed paths and shared a vision for transforming in-store music. Together, they developed the first WAV embedded in-store music player, laying the technological foundation for what would eventually become WAVMerlaud.
WAVFlow — IP In-Store Music Player
Carlos Hinolan and Michael Jiang released WAVFlow, an IP-based in-store music player that marked a significant leap forward in networked audio delivery. WAVFlow laid the technical and commercial foundation for the next generation of Merlaud Digital IP Amplifiers, bridging the gap between consumer music streaming and professional-grade public address infrastructure.
WAVHub in-house software development team
WAVHub established its in-house software development team, shifting from outsourced development to a dedicated engineering unit focused on multi-platform in-store audio applications. This investment in internal capability accelerated the platform's evolution and laid the groundwork for the sophisticated network management software at the core of WAVMerlaud.
WAVMerlaud launch
WAVMerlaud is established, combining software platform expertise and hardware engineering under one unified platform.
Multi-zone milestone
WAVMerlaud systems applied in diferent Industries with active zones across transport, education, and commercial sectors.
What we stand for
Life-safety first
Every design decision starts with the question: what happens when this fails? Redundancy and failsafe behaviour are non-negotiable.
Open by design
We build to open standards and publish our APIs. Our customers should never be locked into a proprietary ecosystem.
Engineering depth
We employ engineers, not salespeople. Every recommendation we make is grounded in acoustic physics and network engineering.
Long-term partnership
PA infrastructure lasts decades. We design systems and relationships to match — with support, firmware, and hardware availability guaranteed.
